PROVIDING HOPE

IN BRISTOL

We exist to support those without a home – A bustling team of volunteers work around the clock to provide support to vulnerable people in our city.

In Bristol we have an extremely high number of people affected by homelessness. Some of those we engage with are living in temporary accommodation, hostels, or sofa surfing. We also work with those deemed most vulnerable within our society; Those who are street homeless.

“It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.” – Nelson Mandela

Our approach is to build relationships with those who have been let down by society. We make sure everyone we meet feels valued and not judged because those we meet are in desperate situations – There’s no ‘one story fits all’.

VANS 365 & GEMSEC

Vans 365 and Gemsec worked together to help us secure a van so that we can take all of our supplies to outreach. Vans 365 graciously accepted an exchange from Neil and Natalie Winterson and offered us a reduced price on our van. Gemsec also donated £1000 to help towards the running of the van.

PARISH COUNCILLOR, ALMONDSBURY PARISH COUNCIL

ALEX AKERMAN

Helping Homeless Believe is a wonderful organisation. I’ve seen first-hand how much of a positive impact Hayley Jennings and her fantastic team of hard working volunteers have in terms of alleviating the suffering of persons without permanent homes and rough sleepers in Bristol. HHB provides a wide range of much needed food and essential items – from hot meals, fresh food, and drinks; to clothes, sleeping bags, sanitary products, to name just a few. Many of the recipients know Hayley by name and are very vocal in expressing their gratitude to her.

Hayley also helps those members of the homeless community living outside of Bristol, and the amount of time she spends fundraising and engaging with support agencies and council services on behalf of individuals is incredible. I’ve been volunteering with the HHB outreach team for several months now and have been very impressed with the degree of professionalism and coordination they operate with. I’ve made some great friends through volunteering and would highly recommend it to anybody who wants to play their part in combating the scourge of homelessness in Bristol and surrounding areas.

Just a quick text to say thank you. Thank you for thinking of me after a hectic day. This is exactly what I mean when I say you amaze me. A well needed meal, a WELL NEEDED hot drink and a chat. Thanks x

Thanks for making me feel human. The first sit down meal since being homeless, one I am going to remember and talk about for a long, long time.
